BSE Sensex Reaches Record High
The market capitalization of the listed companies on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) surged to an unprecedented Rs 447.40 lakh crore on Thursday. Early in the trading session, the 30-share BSE Sensex touched an intraday peak of 80,392.64. Even with considerable volatility and investor profit-taking, the Sensex ended the day up 62.87 points, or 0.08 percent, at 80,049.67.

BSE-listed businesses’ combined market capitalization reached an all-time high of Rs 447.40 lakh crore (USD 5.36 trillion). 2,185 of the 4,021 equities that were traded saw gains, 1,742 saw declines, and 94 saw no change.

Expectations that the Federal Reserve would cut borrowing costs after a record-breaking rise saw Indian stock markets open higher on Thursday. Avdhut Bagkar, Technical and Derivatives Analyst at StoxBox, pointed out the dismal US economic data. The benchmark equity indices saw a brief spike in value, but losses in HDFC Bank were more than offset by gains in technology firms, and the day ended almost unchanged from Wednesday’s closing.

Performances by Sector
The Pharma, Healthcare, and IT sectors led the gains, but the general market attitude remained favorable. The BSE Smallcap index increased by 0.62 percent and the midcap index by 0.60 percent in the overall market.

The BSE Sensex achieved intraday resistance above 80,000 points on Wednesday, and the Nifty index closed at a new all-time high of 24,286.50, up more than 162 points.
