Q4 results for Colgate Palmolive India

Colgate-Palmolive India announced on Tuesday that its profit after tax (PAT) for the March quarter increased by 20.1% to Rs 379.8 crore.

In the corresponding quarter of last year, Colgate-Palmolive (India) reported a profit and loss of Rs 316.2 crore.

The toothpaste category had double-digit growth, which drove the company’s 9.5% domestic growth. It stated that strong performance in FY24 was attained by effectively carrying out strategic goals, including premiumization through science-based innovation, growth acceleration in the core portfolio, propelling toothbrush category growth, and expanding the personal care category.

Management Thoughts

According to Prabha Narasimhan, Managing Director & CEO of Colgate-Palmolive (India), “From a geography perspective, our rural business has grown faster than urban and we continue to see strong performance in modern trade and e-commerce platforms.”

Regarding the future, Narasimhan stated, “We are optimistic about the market recovery, the ongoing development of our strong brand, and a robust innovation pipeline, which will include the introduction of a first-of-its-kind ‘Tooth Whitening Booster’ under the ‘Visible White’ range in the coming year.”

Citi keeps its ‘Sell’ rating for Colgate Palmolive shares.

With a target price of Rs 2,200, Citi has maintained a sell call on Colgate-Palmolive India.

According to the statement, the stockholders would get a dividend payout of Rs 979.2 crore.
