Two new Android tools from Google Gemini were unveiled earlier this year at Google I/O. Users can ask questions about anything happening on the screen by using the “Ask about this screen” option. ‘Ask about this video’ is another function that works with YouTube. Following the user’s command of the AI assistant, the prompt appears on top of the Gemini window.

A temporary screenshot is taken as soon as the user clicks on this tab, and after that the user can ask their question by typing. Although Gemini’s initial response is predicated on screenshot features, the user can instruct Gemini to leverage internet access to obtain further information or even summarize a news item, Google Meet Introduces Note-Taking.

These screenshots are not stored by the system, though. For the purpose of defining the video’s subjects for the “Ask about this video” function, the bot seems to read through the captions. Android Police discovered these tools on the Google beta app version 15.34.32 and the Gemini beta application version 1.0.662093464.

Gemini will be integrated into Google Meet for their new feature called “Take Notes for Me” for briefing meetings, in addition to Android devices. The utility is currently only available in English, but it will be made available to users of Google Workspace with the add-ons for AI Meetings, Messaging, Gemini Education Premium, and Gemini Enterprise. After the meeting is over, the functionality automatically writes notes in a Google Document and adds the file to the calendar event.

Anyone with this tool enabled, including the meeting organizer, can share the file. When someone arrives late for a meeting, the feature will make accommodations for them by sending links to relevant materials, such as the Google Doc, after they enter. Google, a major player in the digital industry, has announced that it will start releasing this tool by September 10.

Android Authority has separately disclosed the ability to locate Gemini extensions for Google Messages, WhatsApp, and Android system notifications in the 15.34.32.29.arm64 beta. The bot could assist customers with placing calls, reading and exchanging messages on WhatsApp, and using voice commands in accordance with the feature’s illustration.
