Official data issued on Wednesday shows that as of September 15, the government’s net direct tax collections were at Rs 9.92 lakh crore and advance tax revenues were at Rs 4.23 lakh crore, up 19% and 15% over the same period last year.

According to official figures issued on Wednesday, the government’s advance tax collections of income tax reached at Rs 4.23 lakh crore as of September 15, representing rise of more than 19% over the same period last year. Over 15% more money was collected in direct taxes at that time, totaling Rs 9.92 lakh crore.
Tax receipts rose; India Net Direct Tax Collection Surges 15 percent
According to the report, gross direct tax receipts rose by around 21% to Rs 11.94 lakh crore.
In the meantime, the taxman issued refunds totaling Rs 2.2 lakh crore, which represents a 65.7% rise in comparison to the previous year.
