Tuesday saw a broad-based rise that propelled domestic market indices to new all-time highs, driven by energy, IT, and financial companies, as investors resumed trading following a long weekend. Both the Sensex and the Nifty50 closed at record closing highs, with the Sensex rising 308.4 points, or 0.4 percent, to close at 77,301.1 and 23,557.9, respectively. During the session, both main indexes saw gains of up to 0.5 percent to reach all-time highs. The Sensex gained 374 points to reach an unprecedented 77,366.8, while the Nifty50 added 113.5 points to its previous close to reach a record 23,579.1.
The top five gainers in the Nifty50 basket were Shriram Finance (SHRIRAMFIN), Power Grid (POWERGRID), Wipro, ICICI Bank (ICICBANK), and Titan, which closed between 1.6% and 3.2% higher.

Conversely, the top losers in the 50-scrip pack were Maruti Suzuki (MARUTI), Dr. Reddy’s Labs (DRREDDY), UltraTech (ULTRACEMCO), Tata Steel (TATASTEEL), and Hindalco, which finished between 0.8 and 2.1 percent lower.
The largest contributors to the increases in both primary indicators were Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), Power Grid, Infosys, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank.
The Nifty Bank gained 438.9 points (0.9%) for the day to close at 50,440.9. The Nifty Bank is made up of 12 constituents, including SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda, PNB, and Bandhan Bank.
