A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM) and Microsoft with the aim of providing employment opportunities for the youth of Punjab and improving their skills and competence in line with global needs. The MoU calls for the instillation of essential skills in at least 10,000 youths in the state each year.

Thanking the entire department for reaching yet another significant goal in Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development, Profession The Minister of Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training, Aman Arora, congratulated the entire department on reaching yet another significant milestone. He stated that this partnership will make it possible to equip 10,000 young people in Punjab with the critical technology, employability, cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), cyber security, and sustainability skills as well as English communication and entrepreneurship skills.

He emphasized that the agency has been making every effort to provide job opportunities for the youth of Punjab.

Speaking about the partnership, Amrit Singh explained, “The all-encompassing future skills partnership with Microsoft for 2024–2025 comprises numerous focused programs tailored to the unique requirements of varied learners served by PSDM, with the goal of improving their proficiency in line with global demands and offering them with job prospects in an AI-powered economy to improve living standards.

She also emphasized that Punjab’s skilled youth will be provided by the Department of Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training in order to meet the industry’s demand for labor.

She said that other memorandums of understanding would soon be inked with additional businesses.

In order to increase the workforce participation rate of 10,000 rural adolescents, young women, girls, and people with disabilities, the collaboration’s main components include teaching them core digital, employability, and AI fluency skills.

Additionally, it offers industry-relevant and in-demand digital skills for job seekers registered with the Department of Employment Generation that are connected to entry-level AI-enabled positions.

In-depth training programs and awareness of cloud, artificial intelligence, security, and sustainability (green skills) were among its other features. through instructors in technical and vocational schools, opening doors to careers that are in high demand.
