CrowdStrike, a leading cybersecurity firm, released an update on Friday that disrupted numerous computer systems using Windows. This led to an estimated 1,400 flights being grounded across the US, UK, Netherlands, Germany, Hong Kong, and Dubai. Additionally, the update disrupted medical services, banking, and local transport systems in many American cities.
The situation was serious enough for the White House to intervene, with President Joe Biden being briefed and teams of US officials working with private sector players to find a swift resolution.
